Circular Free Philadelphia- A Step Toward Zero Waste

by Amy on January 24, 2018

The problem with New Year’s resolutions is that you have to keep reminding yourself to keep them. Here is a way to live up to your resolution to reduce waste without ever having to think about it more than twice: once to sign up for The City of Philadelphia Circular Non-Delivery Decal Order Form and once, after receiving the decal in the mail, to stick it on your door. That’s it! No more circulars stuck in, on, or under your door. No more circulars filling up your recycling bin. No more circulars littering the street as they blow away from your door knob. The only downside is that you might miss the opening of that new restaurant down the street.

Just fill in the form, mail it in, and wait for a few weeks for it to arrive. Your address will be added to the Non-Delivery list. Once you place it in a visible location at your front door it will be like magic, poof!, no more circulars.

The City of Philadelphia has set a litter-free by 2035 goal that includes becoming 90% zero waste. Reducing demand for paper is one part of the strategy to meet that goal.  By taking this one simple step to keep your New Year’s resolution you will be part of that larger strategy.
