Oh boy the havoc some snow…a lot of snow and some really, really cold weather can play on your electric and gas consumption. The solar panels spent most of the last two months under cover – maybe they were saving themselves for the scorching heat of summer.  They looked comfortable up on the roof under their blankets of snow.  Meanwhile the electric meter buzzed around quite happily running the heating fan to try and keep us warm.  It succeeded every day except during the ice storm caused power outage.  Luckily for us that only lasted a day; other families were not so lucky with outages lasting for weeks.  Rather than analyze these months I would like to look forward to spring and maybe the last of snow, ice, icy wind, sleet.  Think daffodils and sun…lots and lots of sun.
