March 2012

March 2012 Utility Consumption

Electric usage dropped about 33% from last month. That reduction is slightly above average for this time of year. Year-to-year electricity experienced an 8.4% reduction over last year and and a 10% reduction over 2010.  Very exciting is the performance of the PV system this month!  Production was 34.5% higher than last month and 61% higher than last March – WOW!

With the reduction in consumption, net kWh generation is up 82% from last year.

Year-to-date gas consumption is down 25% over last year due to two main factors:

– It has been, on average, 4 degrees warmer this year and

– the air sealing project continued during this period allowing the house to be set 3-4 degrees cooler with the same comfort level.

Water and sewer numbers remain unchanged as the billing is quarterly.
